'In 2021, for the first time in my life, I found myself looking back to the past. My most recent paintings are part of an ongoing series of works made in response to images in my photobook, 'Gently Out of Time'; made after looking through nearly two decades of abandoned photographs on my phone and laptop, using the images to my assist memory and reconnect with snapshot moments, as well as noticing reoccurring themes and compositions. Previous to this, I painted scenes from my day to day life, living in, and walking around, the suburbs at the northern fringe of London; a place that is neither city nor countryside, but fragments of both.'
